Vibration of wisdom beauty in my music

I sit in my office, writing to all of you, and feeling the intense colors of this cool summer. The flowers outside my office window, and the greens of leaves are spectacular. A cardinal family has made it's nest in this beauty also. The sky is clear blue and the air is crisp and cool. The vibration of wisdom has created this manifestation of GAIA.

Over the years of composing and recording music, my question to the Wisdom core from which my music comes has always been: "How do I describe in sound the essence of the beauty around me." And Wisdom always replies: "Open to the vibration and the feeling...don't think about it....let it change you into the person who is this vibration.... then begin to make music."

From this space has emerged an instrumental sound, combined with sounds of nature, which opens the possibilities of emergence and healing and creativity to myself and to those who experience my music. In this sense, I am a healer who creates music and my music is healing music.

I am listening to a collection of my music that I have titled "Dawn and birdsong". Tracks are from the albums A Celebration of Love and Life, Radiance, Emergence, Living the 13th Baktum, and Heart of Sky/Heart of Earth. This music opens my heart wide, and brings joy and strength to my being. I especially love the birdsong....another manifestation of the Wisdom vibration of GAIA.

My latest album, released in late 2013, is Wisdom Enters The World In Love. You can click on the album cover to the right of this blog to hear some of this music. When I was traveling through the Lake Atitlan area of Guatemala, I recorded the sounds of wind and water and birds that carry the wisdom vibration of this sacred area of the Earth. You will experience these sounds on the "Wisdom Enters The World In Love" album and you will also experience the vibration that I carried back from this area in my body and spirit as expressed in my original instrumental music. This is wisdom, healing music of love. You will feel the Wisdom Cave and the Wisdom Mountains (Music Tracks one and two)that surround Lake Atitlan. These sacred spaces have been an opening into the world of spirit since the beginning of the planet, and have been nurtured through the rituals of the Mayan people. Tracks three through six are wisdom expressing in the water, in the flute, in the fire, and in the evening life of GAIA. All are wisdom....all are love...all are healing.

Music supports the world around me

Several weeks ago I received a phone call from a hospice nurse in Honolulu. She had a patient who was dying and listening to The Beloved was the only thing that could calm her down. She later called to say that this person had died peacefully while listening to The Beloved. That is why I do what I do. Creating and performing the music that comes to me is not done to sell music and make sales, but to bring into the world a quality of beauty and connection into the individual's inner world that is transformative. The ducks in this photo were hatched right outside of my mom's front window. The mother duck came out of the marshes to build her nest where mom could see it every day. Aren't they cute! It's amazing the beauty and the joy in nature. My mom is going through an important journey in her life right now, and family is very supportive of her in this time of transition. The Journey

This photo was taken in a nature preserve in Indiana and it is now covered in snow. We are under a winter storm warning...expecting another "many" inches of snow and it is beautiful. I loved this path because it reminds me of Copan, Honduras. I chose this photo for today's Musings because it calls forth the journey into the unknown which is my life and yours. The economic news yesterday was very bleak.. a couple of million people without work and without health insurance. Many millions more without enough work to actually buy enough food and to pay for the basics of life. The stock market falling....companies closing or downsizing. The political news was bleak....war.....terror....poverty across the world. And yet.....the unknown journey continues. We don't know really what this means.
