The Unexpected

The storms did come in and they were severe. 19,000 people in Fort Wayne without power including my parents. So, in the evening I was moving them from their garden home into a hotel because mom has COPD and she couldn't breathe well. We had power, but no longer have a spare bedroom with a bed. That will have to change I think!

 We are at the end of the year 2020 and moving quickly to the winter solstice and the return of Light. Music supports the world around me

Several weeks ago I received a phone call from a hospice nurse in Honolulu. She had a patient who was dying and listening to The Beloved was the only thing that could calm her down. She later called to say that this person had died peacefully while listening to The Beloved. That is why I do what I do. Creating and performing the music that comes to me is not done to sell music and make sales, but to bring into the world a quality of beauty and connection into the individual's inner world that is transformative. The ducks in this photo were hatched right outside of my mom's front window. The mother duck came out of the marshes to build her nest where mom could see it every day. Aren't they cute! It's amazing the beauty and the joy in nature. My mom is going through an important journey in her life right now, and family is very supportive of her in this time of transition. December and the Return of Light

As the days grown darker and shorter, we celebrated the super moon a few days ago with its brilliant light.   In just a few weeks the solstice will emerge and the return of light.  Light is always behind the darkness. This snowy pathway is very near my house. As Retta and I walk it, it becomes a journey into the unknown in the winter.   The white covers everything that we would normally see, and our steps can become treacherous. It is a beautiful time of year and I especially treasure those brief encounters with deer and fox and wild turkey when we are walking in the evening. May your pathways always lead you into the power of the unknown.  May your days be peaceful and full of light.  May beauty be in every moment of your life.
